Kingspan Thermakraft
Kingspan Thermakraft donate building wrap and roofing underlay for many backcountry hut renovations. In the past few years the BCT has been undertaking an extensive program of re-roofing many older huts that were built over 60 years ago. There are multiple reasons for this work, with one of the main reasons the removal of lead ridging and lead nails from the backcountry to protect kea.
In many cases the building paper under the roof has failed and replacing this with Thermakraft Covertek 407 will ensure these huts are protected for many years into the future. |

Tait Communications
The Backcountry Trust appreciates the support of of Tait Communications in Christchurch.
Tait is well known for manufacturing high tech communications solutions world wide for the very high end applications like tourism, transport operators and emergency response. Tait Communications recently generously donated 4 of their radios for field communications as we move in to doing more track work with larger teams. These units have the ability to log into the same Department of Conservation radio network used by rangers to give us the same sort of communications support in the field. |
