David is a qualified carpenter, Licensed Building Practitioner and member of the NZ Certified Builders Ass.
David has been a keen hunter, salmon and trout fisherman since a young age, and has been involved with the South Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Deerstalkers Association for over 20 years - serving on their committee for many years and as branch president for a term. He is also involved in the NZ Tahr Foundation and is an executive member of the Safari Club International New Zealand Chapter. David has also led 5 previous projects through the Backcountry Trust.
David’s favourite places to spend his spare time is anywhere in the Otago and Canterbury high country or the valleys of the West Coast. David has two children Joshua and Brooke who also share a love for backcountry hunting and fishing. David lives in Geraldine with his wife Melissa where they run a small building business.
