NZDA Nominee
Dave is a New Zealand Deerstalkers Association (NZDA) Nominee and joined the trust in September 2024. He has a 30 year association with NZDA and recreational hunting in New Zealand. Dave is a professional Geotechnical Engineer and is currently operating his own Engineering Consultancy and moonlights with off grid extra low power, telemetry and high speed broadband internet backbone system design and installation across our remote backcountry. Dave has held governance roles since 2004 across multiple business and not for profit and charity organisations in New Zealand. In 2020 Dave was awarded a Kiwi Bank Local Hero award as part of the New Zealander of the Year awards for his tireless efforts in advocacy for responsible hunting, Public Walking access and his environmental contribution to the dairy industry as a leader in dairy effluent containment system design. Dave has been repairing backcountry huts with NZDA since 2005, as well as coordinating backcountry volunteer working bees across over the last 20 years. He is based in Invercargill, however travels the South Island for work and play. He is technically and strategically focused, approachable and a good listener. So feel free to get in touch.
