Bill will be the first to say he is better with numbers than words. He has a solid background in accounting, having worked in senior finance roles for a couple of large FMCG companies, before launching his own Chartered Accounting business www.rise.co.nz  In a voluntary basis he has been involved with Supporters of Tiritiri Matangi, and now lends his expertise to support the Backcountry Trust. He is a member of the Auckland Tramping Club and in his spare time regularly heads to the hills. His first tramp of note was into the Mid Waiohine Hut in the Tararua Ranges, which was a wet, cold, windy and thoroughly miserable experience. He was hooked and has been tramping ever since. He finds it impossible to narrow down his favourite places to go tramping but has got it down to anywhere in the North Island ranges and anywhere in the South Island.
